Effect of Biomass Ash on the Properties and Microstructure of Magnesium Phosphate Cement-Based Materials

The disposal of biomass ash (BA) will be great importance for environmental protection and sustainability, the aim this study is to analyze feasibility resourceful use in civil engineering materials. effects content type on flowability, setting time, compressive strength, flexural bonding drying shrinkage magnesium phosphate cement (MPC) mortar were investigated. In addition, BA hydration microstructure MPC investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry, mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), scanning electron microscope (SEM). results showed that significantly affects flowability time mortar. strength mortars decreases with increasing amounts BA. specimens increases exponentially increase content. incorporation reduce mortar, which associated increased shrinkage. into low product generation poor pore structure. has a significant effect morphology hollow columnar-like may formed reaction MgO paste.
